    Lightbulb Hey Gus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    UTS what a GREAT idea!

    You da man!

I actually threw out a first pitch at old county stadium about 10 years ago before a brewer game.

I think the Marlins would want to honor Miamibeach411.com by offering us the very high privilege of throwing out one of the ceremonial first balls.

I'd be happy (as I'm sure anyone would) to step-up to the mound hurl my 97 mph fastball across the plate for the mb411 team!

That would be great if it can be worked out. With the development of miamiballparks.com, there might be some sway with Gus, matt or yourself.

Last year at the Dodger/Marlins meet-up, I looked into getting miamibeach411.com recognition on their big screen. The only way was to work through group sales with at least a group of 20. We had half that.

Don't see why this can't happen, especially with the new site dedicated to the team's coverage. You just gotta make the right calls.

Maybe I should 'roll' my split fingered fastball 'off the table' ?

Boy, so Maria, are you saying you are going to suggest that they should have mb411 own Fred Garvin throw out the first ball for that game??? AWESOME!

Oh, Man ! That would be awesome.

As long as Fred Garvin doesn't take his emery board to the mound, I think he deserves the honor.

    Thanks Mara !

One side of the stadium chanting: MB!
    The other side responding: 411!

    MB.................................411

Throwing out a first pitch ain't as easy as one would assume. Another reason I love George W. is he always threw a strikes on all his first pitches. He's a true BB guy, just like Fred Garvin. He's not some dick that's going to embarrass the 411 Crew like this guy ..............

I have a feeling the the deities ( Maria and Gus) are going to make this happen.

Default ou stay in San Jos

.... a tad bit about the picture. The town of Turrialba, on Costa Rica's Eastern/Caribbean slope is the home of the Rawlings plant that produces all baseballs used in the Major Leagues.. It's not a major tourist destination for foreign visitors but the base for whitewater activity, either on the Revantazon III or Pacuare River IV. This excursion can easily be handled if you stay in San Jose. The outfitters pick you up from your hotel and stop for breakfast on the way. A straight shot from the capital will get you there in 90 minutes. When I first started to go whitewater rafting, I depended on the outfitter to pick me up in San Jose. For the last ten tears, I make my own way to Turrialba and stay at a sugar cane/macademia plantation/hotel called Casa Turire. It's a great two days.

At my first attempts to visit the plant, I was kindly told it was a highly restictive area - and Perdon ! no se puede. Nevertheless, I kept going to Casa Turire every year still determined, on the back of mind I'll get into Rawlings. After a few years I wrote a family member, Rodrigo Carazo Odio for help. Id figure a recomendation from the ex presidente del la republica can't hurt. On my next visit I was given the bienvenida by the security staff.

One claim I can make before any baseball fan on this planet is that I'm the only fan to visit the plant. Not only that, I was given a tour by the QC manager. With the exception of seeing how baseballs are wound up, I witnessed every process on the production of a major league baseball. As my tour winded down, the last phase of production was seeing the baseballs imprinted. The ball that I saw stiched by hand was encased and handed to me as a gift and memento of my visiit after the whole process. I felt honored. Ie major lt was at that moment I noticed how baseball went generic. There used to be a time when the American and National Leagues had their own printing on the ball. I wasn't complaining at all.

Each Friday, 500,000 balls leave the plant to the port of Limon. In due course, the cargo reaches the Port of Miami then trucked to St. Louis to be distributed amongst the major leagues.

Since I cant be there, all I ask is for is, before Fred starts his wind-up, is for him to study the craftmanship that went into producing the circumference of our pastime.
    rk and fredgarvin like this.

Cool gonna break off a wicked curve...............

Well, again a first pitch honor is quite a big thing!

Some teams have 1-3 people throw it out where others don't allow it at all.

My arm (thanks to the softball season) is all warmed up and if I get the call out here in the bullpen, I'll be ready to deliver!

Yes, baseball has been very very good to me!

Jess, is that delivery reminiscent of a bowlers googly motion in cricket?

For those interested, my motion is more like this:

Must consult my Jewish calendar and check on June 4th. Would hate to see your arm shut down on a day of obligation.

Other than being one of the greatest to stand on the hill, he always had his priorities straight.

Haha cricket is nothing like baseball. Baseball is called rounders and is a girls game in England.

    OUCH !!!

It'll have to take the Twins to reach the WS before Jess thinks of baseball as a manly sport again.
