My reply message needs moderator approval?
I'm not sure what's up, but I replied to the topic about "most luxurious island in the Keys", and after I sent the reply, a message said that it will be posted after it gets approved by a moderator. Huh? ????

Re: My reply message needs moderator approval?
Hi Glenn,
Sorry about that. I think it was because you added that awesome table. Thanks for formatting your reply so well. Sorry your webmaster skills triggered a flag.
It's open now.

Re: My reply message needs moderator approval?
Our new spam buster rules mean if a post looks suspicious with links etc, it just has to wait for one of us to lift the hold on the post. Trust me, for every 1 legit posting, there is about 50 waiting to be moderated that I delete each day.

Re: My reply message needs moderator approval?
Yeah, we're getting hammered by spammers right now.
We've managed to cut down on the posts, with new measures like Jess mentioned.
This week, we should have a system in place to stop the fake registrations.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
And a big thank you to Jess for moderating so well.

Wow! Didn't know you get so much spam. 50 to 1. That's amzing. Thanks to the whole MB411 crew for doing a great job keeping the site free of junk.
Gus - That "awesome table" I added was just a cut and paste from somewhere else. LOL!

This heykevin person looks kind of like spam. A lot of unintelligible posts but doesn't seem to be selling anything.

Hahaha, that's cos his one sneaky spam post was waiting to be moderated! He's history now.
When will these idiots learn to stop posting links?

What's the story about all these new members using cryillic script in their names ?

They're all spam registrations that are generated by a bot(s), not a human. We're getting about 100 fake registrations a day. Thankfully, they're all using those weird names and cryillic script you mentioned. That way, I can just do a quick scan for that stuff and delete them all at once.
My only concern is a real person using one of those weird Greek names, like the one you used to use will get deleted by mistake.

Re: My reply message needs moderator approval?
I had a post, without a table or link, held for moderation the other day. I'm not sure why it was suspicious, it was the same "don't move to Miami you moron" rant I've posted 100 times here before.

Re: My reply message needs moderator approval?
It happened again. Two days ago I posted a reply in a thread where someone had questions about buying a condo, and it went into some "waiting for moderator" queue. I was surprised because there were no links in it, but thought it would eventually appear, but it still hasn't shown up.
Gus, on your list of things to do down the road, maybe you could add something like this:
if member == "regular(*)" then skip moderator queue
(*with apologies to fred)

Re: My reply message needs moderator approval?
rk,
My apologies about that. I just changed a setting in your user group and I don't think it will happen again. However, these vBulletin settings are a little confusing and if it does happen, please let me know an I will jump right on it.

Thanks Gus. no apology needed of course, and please consider my request as a very low priority future thing.

Re: My reply message needs moderator approval?
It looks like this is not totally fixed. I got a pm from another member saying his message was being moderated. This is really bugging be and I want to get it fixed.
If anyone else gets a moderated message notification, please let me know here, or message me.

Re: My reply message needs moderator approval?
I opened two posts today that's all. It seems to be long posts with links.

Re: My reply message needs moderator approval?
Hi everyone!
I spoke with Gus, master Owl and programmer last night. The moderated posts happen every now and then, and only when the post is very long and/ or with links in. We have a new super duper advanced spam system in place, and it is working great. But every now and then your posts may need to be moderated before going online.
Please do not think it is lost. We see the posts as if they are in the threads, and we just have to approve them. There is no need to re post, as we just have two posts waiting for us to check! We usually approve them straight away, and if there's any wait, it's only cos we're in a yoga class or something
Thanks for your patience, and keep posting!
Jess
