Default Can anyone login to MB411 using their phone?

Gus, I'm getting an Error page.

I'm pretty sure other people have been able to login to the forums and post, using their blackberry/iphone. I just got a bb curve 8900 from tmobile. It uses the 2G and EDGE networks. I was so excited because I thought I could chat here using my phone.

I went to MB411 on the internet browser, and got our home page. I click on "discuss" and then "member login".

I get a cute owl telling me "Sorry the file you were looking for cannot be found." Above the owl, I see the dreaded "404 File Not Found" and then it has a paragraph explaining things with 3 links.

Is anyone else getting this? It's not my biggest problem right now, but I need to know if it's the site or my phone..I have 2 more days to return my phone.

    Thanks!

Were you logging in on a computer or your phone? I'm always logged in on my computer.

    Sungal,

I haven't heard of any problems logging in from a phone.

The problem might be, you are logged in to the weblogs (Learn, News, Events), but you are not logged into the forum.

This mean, as you're browsing around the site, some sections you'll be logged in and other sections you will not.

Sorry for making you login twice... In the next few months, there should be a software upgrade that will fix this.

Please let me know if logging in twice works.

On the phone I can't login at all. When I do hit login after discuss, I see the forum topics, but there's no area that says login and password.

I tried the same thing on my laptop and when you hit login after discuss it offers a space to login and put your password.

    Sungal+technology don't mix :(

I hit Discuss, then go up to the top and press Member Login from there. Then it will give you the login page.

It works OK from my Windows Mobile v5 pda, so I don't think there's a general problem with the website and mobile browsers.

The Blackberry uses a proprietary OS, and I don't have one to test, but here are a few suggestions:

    (1) Make sure there isn't something off-screen that you are overlooking. Scroll in all four directions.

    (2) Reboot your Blackberry and try again. Instructions for rebooting are at:
    http://www.wikihow.com/Reboot-Your-B...ur-Battery-out

    (3) If all fails, take your phone back to where you bought it. As long as you are within the 3-day return period they will be very motivated to fix it for you.

    Good luck.

Make sure you scroll to the bottom of the page... that is where the login table is located.

After you're logged in, the "Login" link should disappear.

Logged members should see "<member name> | My 411 | Help | Logout" links at the top of the page.

Try this, go to these two pages, and make sure you're logged out:

    http://www.miamibeach411.com/news/index.php
    http://forums.miamibeach411.com

Next, go to this page and login:

    http://forums.miamibeach411.com

    Does that work?

Thanks!! I was able to login from my phone..and the keep me logged in box was checked. However, I was all excited to click on this topic and tell everyone I'm posting from my phone, but sadly the reply button didn't take me to the reply box..oh well, enough problems for the day. Taking a relaxing break and going to the beach for an hour or so.

You should be able to log-in from two computers at the same time (or from a computer and a smartphone), but you will have to login separately on each, i.e. it will not remember that you logged in on another computer earlier.

This is what I always have to do, phone, online, carrier pigeon. The Login link at the top of the front page takes you to an error page. You might want to look at where that directs to.

Seems like there is a bad "login" link from the front page. Gus will have to fix it.

If you click "Member login" from http://www.miamibeach411.com/ it goes to:
http://www.miamibeach411.com/{path='member/login'} which is a bad link.

If you click "Member login" from http://forums.miamibeach411.com/ it goes to:
    http://forums.miamibeach411.com/inde...ber/login/#log which works.

Coach, rk, thanks for the bug report.

I'm working on fixing the issues.

I'll update this thread, as progress is made... should be a few weeks, though.

I was working on fixing some of these bugs with a friend who skipped out on me.

If anyone knows a developer with CSS, PHP, and Photoshop skills, please have them contact me.
