Default How do I post photos in the body of a reply?

If I start a thread, I see a browse button that can attach photos. Does this just attach it, or does it put it in the message body?

For replies, I don't see any browse button or a way to attach them or to put them in the body. How do I put them in a reply?

    Thanks!

Well - I partly figured it out. I was hitting "fast reply" instead of "post reply", and that's why the browse button didn't appear. So, I tried "post reply", browsed and selected a photo, but the photo still didn't show up.

    What next?

The photo has to have a width of 600 pixels or less or else it won't work.

For reply, it's the same thing. Shouldn't be any different.

Yes, you can only add pictures using the "Post Reply" button. Here are some instructions from a previous thread:

It's super easy. There are two ways to do it...

Attach Images Saved On Your Computer

Step 1 - On the New Topic or Post Reply pages, click the "Browse" button next to the "Attachments" window. This opens a pop-up where you can find the file on your local hard drive that contains the image that you'd like to upload.

Step 2 - Once this is complete, click the "Submit Post" button at the bottom of the form.

(NOTE: Pictures can not be any wider than 600 pixels.)

Hot Linking - Attach Images From Other Websites (Flickr, ImageShack, etc.)

Step 1 - On the New Topic or Post Reply pages, paste the url (website address) of where the image is saved into the "Message" table.

Step 2 - Highlight the url and click the <img> button. After you click the button, the code should look like this:

Once I learned how to get my pics under 60 KB, posting is super easy. This is only 14KB, so it's small.

Thanks for the replies. Now I just need to figure out how to shrink my photos to 600 pixels in width.

I just pay attention to KB, like I mentioned. You can use MS Paint and do Image, Resize/Skew to reduce it. It's kind of a guessing game for me..

Okay, here's another test. This time I am linking a photo from my photobucket account, which i think automaitcally shrinks the photo.

Sungal Thanks for your suggestion, too.

It's amazing how much a polarizing filter really increases contrast, and makes the clouds "pop". It also helps deepen the blue sky and define the underwater reefs.

Here's the same photo just moments earlier, from a slighly different angle, but without the polarizer filter. I figured this one would be much better with the polarizer, so I screwed it on the lens. It made a big difference from this one below, which is pretty plain.

Great photo. It seems a bit too wide, messing the formatting of the page somewhat.

That's OK about the picture width.

The new forum layout should allow for wider pictures.
